CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The NFL career for quarterback Christian Hackenberg, which included a stint on the Bengals practice squad, was anything but memorable, so he has apparently decided to try his hand at another professional sport.

In an interview with Philadelphia television station NBC10, Hackenberg says he's been working on becoming a baseball pitcher.

Hackenberg is considered one of the biggest quarterback draft busts in recent years.

After a decent career at Penn State, he was selected by the New York Jets in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He never threw a pass in two seasons with the Jets and was active for only four games in the two seasons combined.

The Jets traded him to the Oakland Raiders following the 2017 season, but he didn't stick with them either. The Philadelphia Eagles signed Hackenberg, but he was waived on Sept. 1, 2018.

The Bengals then signed him on Sept. 3, 2018 to the practice squad, where he remained until they released him on Nov. 5.

He never played in a single NFL game.

He played for the American Alliance of Football team in Memphis in 2019 and made only three starts before he was benched.
