Five habits add years to your life
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - What to eat could make a difference in how long you live, and so could a few other things, according to a new study.
A study in the Journal Circulation found Americans actually live shorter lives than many people in other high-income countries.
When researchers tracked more than 123 people for 30 years they found there were five habits to help you live longer.
In addition to 30 minutes of vigorous exercise a day, the other habits are a diet high in fruits and vegetables, maintaining a healthy body weight, not smoking, and moderate alcohol intake.
Moderate, by the way, is no more than one drink a day for women, two for guys.
You do have to limit the alcohol at each sitting. One reason for that is because it's hard to make healthier choices of what to eat, researchers found, when your inhibitions start dropping from drinking.
