New report shows there may be up to 40 good compounds for your health in garlic
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A popular trend in backyard gardening is growing in the Tri-State.
Many people are choosing to plant and nurture their own nutrition, with the help of garlic!
Peter Voss invited Local 12 out to his backyard garlic growing garden.
“We eat it every day, so we thought we might as well grow it as well,” said Voss.
He's one of many who now feels that garlic is a plant more powerful than any pill.
“It’s one of the healthiest things for you,” said Voss.
A recent summary report on garlic in Consumer Reports on Health found garlic is an exceptional body boost, partly because of its scent, which appears to play an immune boosting benefit.
But in addition to that, researchers at the Biomedical Research Institute say there may be as many as 40 other “good for you” compounds in garlic.
Overall studies show it can drop cholesterol ten percent, and drop blood pressure numbers too.
