CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A new report has some alarming numbers about the age children start putting in a lot of couch time, meaning it may be critical to find fitness that's fun for them.

Circus fitness is one of many kinds of exercise children can enjoy these days, but this study in Pediatrics says you might want to get them into this kind of fitness or another they enjoy at an early age.

The study says activity declines in kids beginning at the age of 6. There's a steady drop between the ages of 6 and 11 years old. Researchers looked at 600 kids and found their daily physical activity dropped by about an hour and 15 minutes a day between those ages. Sitting around went up just shy of about two hours during that same time.

It's suggested to get children involved in an activity that gets them off the couch on a regular basis.

If you want to find out more about children's fitness, My Nose Turns Red will be performing in a special Circ-A-Thon. It's at the Fairview-Clifton German Language School on Clifton Avenue Saturday, Dec. 8 beginning at 11 a.m. Click here for more information.
