'A Very Teal Holiday' concert supports fight against ovarian cancer
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Local musicians are teaming up to support the fight against cancer.
It's hard not to feel the presence of love and support when you hear musician Craig Aven. Aven and others from the Ovarian Cancer Alliance joined Local 12 Thursday to tell us more about an upcoming event.
"The Ovarian Cancer Alliance is a three-pronged mission. One is to support our survivors, the second is to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and its symptoms, and the third is to raise money for research for a cure," said Dianne Weideman with the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Greater Cincinnati.
Musicians such as Serenity Fisher will join Aven and others for a full holiday concert at Mount St. Joseph on Dec. 22. Joe Beiting is helping coordinate that effort.
"It's called 'A Very Teal Holiday,' and it's in honor of the people who have gone through -- either as supporters or as patients -- ovarian cancer," said Beiting.
The Ovarian Cancer Alliance's A Very Teal Holiday Celebration came from the celebration in 2017 for Debbie Walter. Her family and friends held Christmas in October for her before she passed away in November. The concert celebrates her life.
You can purchase tickets for the concert here, or you can call Pam "Beiting" Bryant at 513-289-1274 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
