CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Two big names in surgery and sports medicine are teaming up. This big announcement came Thursday from the team at OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. They have launched a new partnership with Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine.
On Thursday, Local 12 got a chance to talk to both teams in that partnership and find out what it means for all of us when it comes to everything from our backs to our bones.
OrthoCincy, which has provided in-office care and orthopedic surgery with cutting-edge technology, is teaming up with Wellington to expand services and care in our community. They will still have all these services and will continue to provide them along with physical therapy and sports medicine but in a larger area: Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
"We currently cover the Tri-State as independent groups and now coming together,” said Dr. Ryan Finnan, an orthopedic surgeon at OrthoCincy. “It's just one larger group. We can provide the exact same care that we did before in any specialties that you need. It just provides greater access for our community."
Some of the offices will stay in the same locations and others will expand to buildings close by. Together, they will become: OrthoCincy Wellington Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine.
“From professional athletes to weekend warriors, young athletes and what we call performance athletes,” said Dr. Robert Rhoad, an orthopedic surgeon and the president and CEO at Wellington Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine. “Everyone gets the same world-class care whether it's on a football field or in a dance studio or if you're just going out and training on your own. You get the same level of care. You really just focus on it. We wanted everyone to reach their full potential."
