The web site 24/7 Wall St. has ranked the states with the most (and least) gun violence. The data came directly from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, looking at suicide versus homicides.
The site used data from 2016, the most recent ready for analysis.
It shows Alaska, which had 23 firearms deaths per 100,000 people, as the deadliest state. Alabama was second with 21.5 firearm deaths per 100,000 people.
Kentucky came in at No. 13 with 17.5, Indiana is 18 (14.9) and Ohio 25 (12.9).
The state with the least is Massachusetts.
