CINCINNATI (WKRC) - What happens when you don't have to leave the house to go to work? The answer: you save lots of time and money.
According to career website Zippia, the time and money it takes to get to work every day adds up: the average worker saves just under $5,000 a year.
Calculating the average cost of gas, morning cups of coffee, daily showers, and lunch for a 40 hour work week — for 50 weeks a year — adds up to $4,600 a year. When working from home, all of that money is saved.
Additionally, it takes time to do all of the above, as well as to socialize with coworkers. Zippia calculated that the average worker saves 48 work days of time per year!
