Forum to discuss heroin, opiate addiction to be held in Fairfield

Forum to discuss the issue on October 24 at the Mercy Healthplex in Fairfield (WKRC file)

FAIRFIELD, Ohio (WKRC) - Butler County is on track to break last year's records for the highest number of drug overdose deaths, according to the county coroner. Several organizations in Fairfield will hold a forum in an effort to help the community.

Both the police chief Robert Chabali and the fire chief Timothy Thomas will share their experience and knowledge in dealing with the issues facing drug addicts and their families.

Mercy Hospital, the Fairfield Opiate Task Force, the City of Fairfield, Fairfield Drug Free Coalition, and Fairfield Community Foundation will all take part. Those who attend can learn more about statistics, problems and solutions in relation to opioid addiction.

The forum is free and open to the public. It will be held on October 24 at 7 p.m. at the Mercy Healthplex at 3040 Mack Road.
