    FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. (WKRC) - A teenager has died nearly week after she was involved in a motorcycle accident that killed the driver near Brookville, Indiana. Karissa Peters, 15, died on Wednesday at UC Medical Center.

    She was a passenger on Jeffrey Dethlefs motorcycle on July 7. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says they were riding on SR 252, near Little Cedar Road, when Dethlefs hit some loose gravel. He lost control and the motorcycle went off the road, down an embankment and hit an electric fence.

    Dethlefs and Peters were thrown from the motorcycle. Dethlefs wasn't wearing a helmet and died at the scene. Karissa was wearing a helmet. A medical helicopter flew her to UC Medical Center where she died on July 11.

    Karissa was a sophomore at Norwood High School. The district brought in grief counselors to help anyone who might need it.
