17-year-old's body recovered after drowning in Lake Lorelei
PERRY TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - The body of a 17-year-old boy who drowned in Lake Lorelei on Thursday has been recovered.
Maxwell Dickey was swimming with friends near the beach of Lake Lorelei when he suddenly disappeared under the water.
Several people reportedly jumped into the water and attempted to find Dickey, but they were unsuccessful.
Brown County dispatch received a call of a possible drowning at 2:24 p.m.
Fayetteville Police and EMS, as well as the Brown County Sheriff's Office and Ohio Department of Natural Resources responded to the area to assist in the search for Dickey.
Finally, members of Task Force 1 responded to the scene with specialized water search equipment and located Dickey underwater. They recovered his body.
Brown County Coroner's office pronounced Dickey dead at the scene.
