NEWPORT, Ky. (WKRC) - Two bridges were shut down after there was a report of shots fired on Thursday.
Newport Police officers were dispatched to the Levee just before 2 a.m., and there was a large police presence for two hours attempting to locate potential suspects.
According to police, officers interviewed those alleging shots were fired and eventually determined no shots we fired inside the Levee. No arrests were made.
Authorities shut down Taylor South Gate and Purple People bridges temporarily during the investigation.
