MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Deputies have arrested one of three suspects accused of forcing their way into a Miami Township home and assaulting the homeowner. The homeowner, Paul Koren, is also in jail.

Deputies say Kyle Hughes and two accomplices forced their way into Koren's home on Buffalo Ridge Road at about 12:30 a.m. Monday.

They're accused of pistol-whipping Koren and using zip ties to tie him up to his bed. They then ransacked the house to look for drugs and money.

Deputies responded to the home and the two accomplices ran into the woods behind the home. Deputes and police dogs searched the area but didn't find them.

They did find Hughes hiding in an unplugged basement freezer. They took him to the hospital and then to jail. Hughes is charged with felonious assault, aggravated burglary and kidnapping.

Koren, 70, is charged with drug trafficking and possession and cultivation of marijuana.
