CINCINNATI (WKRC) - An accident on the Combs-Hehl bridge closed I-275 eastbound near Kellogg Ave Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. It was reopened around 10:30 p.m.

Police say they have located the vehicle, but none of the victims has been found.

Crews searched the Ohio River after a crash caused a vehicle to fall into the river. The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. March 15. A car heading eastbound on I-275 near Coney Island crashed and went over the side of the Combs-Hehl Bridge. Police said Tuesday night it was a 12 vehicle accident that lead to the vehicle going off the side of the bridge.

Witnesses said it was a red SUV that fell into the river. They heard a loud crash and then saw the vehicle fall.

"We just heard a crash, like a skid mark, then there was a loud bang and another loud bang and then the car came up over the bridge and flipped in the water," a witness told Local 12 News

Large boats joined in the search on the river Tuesday afternoon. The Hamilton County Sheriff's helicopter was also helping in the search.

Tuesday night police held a press conference about the accident. The police Chief told the media they found the vehicle that plunged off the bridge with sonar. Crews must determine the best way to bring it up out of the water. As of Tuesday night, no bodies had been found.

Officials opened the bridge around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
