Bengals to honor '88 team at home-opener
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - The Bengals home-opener is Thursday night against division rival Baltimore Ravens and the franchise is celebrating its 1988 Super Bowl team to kickoff the season.
Players like Anthony Muñoz, Tim Krumrie and also head coach Sam Wyche will be among the 45-plus members of that team honored on the field before the game.
Five hundred randomly selected season-ticket holders and their guests got the opportunity to hang out with the '88 team on Wednesday night at Paul Brown Stadium and hear them talk about that special season.
Thursday night's celebration will include highlights of the '88 team throughout the game, they'll be featured again at halftime and they'll also be signing autographs in the Jungle Zone before the game from 6-7 p.m.
The first 10,000 fans in attendance will receive a Bengals hat courtesy of Fifth Third.
The party starts as early as 5 p.m. at The Banks with the Bud Light Tailgate Zone. In addition, the Skystar observation wheel will be open from 4-10 p.m.
The Jungle Zone Pregame Tailgate Party is on the east plaza at Paul Brown Stadium. New food options including specialty hot dogs and burgers, tater tots, cheese steaks, taco trios and some new healthy options will be featured on the menu. The Naked Karate Girls will be playing live music along with a dance group from 6:30-8 p.m.
After the game, the street car will be open extended hours until 1 a.m. for fans looking to leave Paul Brown Stadium.
The Bengals and Ravens are division rivals.
