BLINK light and art festival planned for Cincinnati
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Lumenocity may be a thing of the past here but now there's an effort to put on a new and bigger light and art festival to Cincinnati.
Organizers announced the four-day festival called BLINK set for 2017. Artists will create large-scale projection mapping and murals on Cincinnati buildings as well as smaller-scale, street-level sculptures. Organizers said it's the same art form used on Music Hall during Lumenocity.
The Festival will span 20 city blocks in four zones along the streetcar route; The Banks, Central Business District, Over-the-Rhine and Findlay Market.
The festival will cost an estimated $3 million to produce. The Haile Foundation, AGAR, ArtWorks, Brave Berlin and the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber have all signed-on.
The festival is set for Oct. 12-15, 2017.
