Crews recover teen swimmer's body from the Little Miami River
TERRACE PARK, Ohio (WKRC) - Crews have recovered the body of a 17-year-old who disappeared while swimming in the Little Miami River Saturday. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has identified him as James Ward.
Emergency crews called off their search for him on Monday. They say that he and his 18-year-old brother tried to swim across the river Friday night in Camp Dennison.
The 18-year-old made it to shore. Ward never resurfaced.
Just before 9 p.m. on Monday, a kayaker saw the teen's body floating in the river near Terrace Park.
Members of the Loveland Symmes Fire Department recovered his body.
