ANDERSON, TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) – Spreading joy through random acts of kindness helps the Giesting family deal with a tragedy.
It’s been three years since Brad Giesting passed away after battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer. In his name, they began doing nice things for people as a way to honor him; they call it Brad’s Blessings on Random Acts of Kindness Day.
“People we don’t even know that have been touched in some way by us over the last few years hearing our message have joined in. It’s been exciting,” said Brad’s sister, Sarah DiFrancesca.
With each passing year, the outreach is bigger as more people want to be part of Brad’s Blessings.
"It’s nice to see people pitch in and put it on their calendar, 'Hey, October 22nd, do something special for somebody else,” said Brad’s brother, Greg Giesting.
Inside the Kramer household, more than 300 bags of snacks were being prepared to be sent to the Ronald McDonald House.
"We are just doing things we can to try and help them understand what it means to be kind and do nice things for others,” said Angela Kramer, a lifelong friend of Giestings.
