CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Survivors of human trafficking are sharing their stories with a man who's written laws to fight the practice.
Sen. Rob Portman met with some women who are going through the CHANGE Court. The court is a two-year program for victims of human trafficking. It allows them to get drug treatment and get their criminal records expunged so they can start a new life.
"It's been real helpful. I wouldn't have been able to do it if I didn't have the structure they have and people that care about me. I probably would have still be using or dead by now," said Jackie Frommel.
Sen. Portman has written several anti-trafficking bills.
The next CHANGE Court graduation will be held in August.
