CINCINNATI (WKRC) – Thanks to the Bengals, a local couple now has less than two weeks to finish wedding planning rather than nine months. After the team won the AFC Championship game, there was no hesitation to have a Super Bowl wedding.

Wedding planning is never easy, but for Bengals fans Johnny Wallen and Rachel Hyden, they said the team playing in the Super Bowl is taking the pressure off everything.

“Literally, the Cincinnati Bengals have made this as stress-free as possible,” Wallen said.

The couple's been together nearly three years. It wasn't long into their relationship they realized both were huge sports fans.

“To be able to have someone who enjoys the same things you do, is able to enjoy an entire sporting game, is able to laugh with you and want to be able to look for opportunities to have fun,” Wallen said.

The couple planned for an October wedding but scrapped that idea after one of the most historic days in Cincinnati sports history.

“After the Bengals won on Sunday, who said, 'We are going to change our wedding day?'” Local 12 asked.

“I did, believe it or not,” Hyden said.

“It was definitely her, and, immediately, I didn’t even think twice,” Wallen added.

It's a Super Bowl celebration of their love. They’ll have an early wedding ceremony and then a toast to the Bengals with TVs and a party for everyone to watch.

“For people to be able to come and have, like, a black and orange wedding and people to wear their Bengals gear and be comfortable and happy,” Wallen said.

Leaving them with a lasting memory they'll carry the rest of their lives.

“And be able to tell our grandchildren and be able to share with people that we were able to celebrate this during a time when everyone in the city is excited and happy,” he said.
