Cincinnati's famed Celestial Steakhouse closing after 55 years

CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) - One of Cincinnati's famed restaurants will close its doors after 55 years in operation.

Celestial Steakhouse, with its panoramic views of downtown from high above Mount Adams, is set to close, according to a spokeswoman. The restaurant enjoyed a nearly two-decade run on one of the nation's most prestigious restaurant award lists.

The Celestial, which opened in 1963 at 1071 Celestial St., is closing its doors after being one of Cincinnati's most prolific fine dining restaurants. The restaurant space is being taken over by Funky's Catering, which will operate it as an event space. Details on Funky's plans for the space were not immediately available.
