Cincinnati Police Department captain battling breast cancer has passed away
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A Cincinnati Police captain has passed away after battling breast cancer.
Capt. Kimberly Williams was the first African-American woman to earn the rank of captain in the police department. She served in four districts and in the Vice Unit. Before her passing, she was in charge of the department's internal investigation.
On Tuesday, FOP president Dan Hils posted to the Facebook group "Support the Blue in Cincy" about Capt. Williams' passing, saying, "Her love for family, friends and colleagues will also live forever in their hearts."
In July, Capt. Williams told Local 12's Angela Ingram, “I’ve always tried to leave a legacy of love, compassion.”
