Madisonville house fire causes $300,000 worth of damage

MADISONVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) - Cincinnati fire battled flames in Madisonville Saturday night.

Firefighters responded to a house fire on Sonoma Court near Duck Creek Road around 7:30 p.m.

It was a two-alarm blaze.

No one was hurt.

The fire originated in the basement, but it's not clear how it started.

Firefighters were ordered to exit the house due to safety concerns after an area of the first floor collapsed into the basement within five minutes of them arriving.

It was also discovered that the fire had spread through several concealed spaces up to the second floor.

The homeowner told Local 12 he was about to go to bed when he realized his home was on fire.

He was displaced and will be staying with family.

Heavy smoke could be seen pouring out of the house for hours.

Several firefighters worked through the end of Saturday night, putting out hot spots.

The damage is estimated at $300,000. Fire investigators did say there were some problems with low water pressure.
