Crews try to prepare roads for ice and snow while it rains
HARRISON, Ohio (WKRC) - Crews are out in force trying to prepare Tri-State roads for the switch from rain to ice or snow Friday.
Temperatures have dropped since the early morning hours. At noon, Brandon Orr said pavement temperatures were not cold enough for ice.
Treating the roads has been difficult because of the rain, but crews are out anyway.
In Cincinnati, they've been out since about 7 a.m. Seventy-eight workers are working 12 hour shifts to do what they can to prepare.
In Northern Kentucky, Nancy Wood with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said contractors report at noon. They already have some trucks out.
There are reports of snow in parts of Indiana at noon.
