Driver killed on I-75 crash in Boone County
BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) - A driver was killed on Interstate 75 south off the Richwood exit after a car stopped on the highway and was hit by an SUV. The driver has been identified as David Marshall, 62, of Louisville.
Tom Scheben with the Boone County Sheriff's Office said the Honda Civic was northbound on the highway when it stopped. The lights were also off. A Chevrolet Traverse hit the Civic at about 1:30 a.m.
The impact sent the Civic across the highway into the right lane. The Traverse hit the concrete wall.
Marshall was pronounced dead at the scene. A teenager in the Traverse suffered a minor back injury and was taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.
All northbound lanes were shut down during the investigation and cleanup. The highway reopened about three hours later.
Investigators do not know why the Civic was stopped on the highway.
