Driver who bailed car during police chase is caught in Walnut Hills
WALNUT HILLS, Ohio (WKRC) - A police chase near Eden Park lead to an arrest after the suspect bailed out of his car and tried to get away.
The chase was part of a drug investigation. It ended in the parking lot of an apartment building just off Victory Parkway when the fleeing suspect gave up.
The car portion of the chase went up Florence Avenue, which is near the I-71 and Reading interchange and then wound through several streets in Walnut Hills.
Police say that it started as a drug investigation by the gang unit. The chase lasted several minutes. Cops put out stop sticks and they worked, puncturing the tire of the fleeing vehicle.
But after the car stopped, the suspect took off up a very long staircase. A police dog went up after him. He was caught across the street from the top of the stairs.
The man's face is obscured in the video footage and pictures because at this point he has not been charged with anything, and his name has not been released.
Police say some heroin was recovered.
