FC Cincinnati secures Cast-Fab site next to Oakley Station
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - If FC Cincinnati joins Major League Soccer, there's a chance they'll be playing in Oakley.
The team secured the Cast-Fab site next to Oakley Station on Tuesday, but if the stadium deal falls through the land deal is off. That will likely fall on city council.
They'll decide next week whether to approve a plan proposed by Mayor John Cranley.
It includes about $37 million in infrastructure funding.
Combined with the parking garage from the county the dollars fall about $20 million short of FC Cincinnati's $75 million request.
Insiders say FCC is a favorite to get an MLS bid, but a soccer specific stadium is a necessity.
