ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Fire and smoke caused damage at The Pelican's Reef restaurant in Anderson Township on Friday.
Smoke was spotted from outside and when firefighters arrived on scene it was upgraded to a structure fire. According to fire investigators, the blaze started in the kitchen area.
One firefighter suffered an ankle injury in the process.
It happened at the Beechmont Avenue location around 5:30 a.m. That's part of the Oak Tree Centre. Smoke damage spread to other attached businesses throughout the strip mall.
The restaurant has been at the location for over 25 years.
