SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - A home is a called a "total loss" after a fire in Springfield Township on Saturday.
The home at 234 Beechridge Drive caught on fire on three separate occasions. The first was around 7 a.m., then it reignited around 2 p.m. and then reignited again an hour later at 3 p.m.
Firefighters on scene have not provided information as to why the fire reignited twice. No one from the fire department has been available to answer questions.
That home had been passed down through generations. The family says they're also upset because a neighboring house was also damaged after the reignition of the fire.
"Whole side of his house is all burned," said the homeowner, Lawrence Dye. "He's got water inside. Good neighbor. It could have all been avoided if they would have left someone around or came back and checked."
