Former assistant principal sentenced for inappropriately touching women, girls at store
CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - A Clermont County judge sentenced a former elementary school assistant principal to three years in prison to inappropriately touching women and girls at the Eastgate Meijer store. Todd Clowery had pleaded guilty to charges of attempted gross sexual imposition, attempted sexual imposition, voyeurism and obstructing official business.
The judge sentenced Clowery to the maximum sentence on June 7. He tried to touch the women and girls at the store in August of 2017. He also photographed them, including taking a picture up the skirt of one victim, a prosecutor said at the time of his arrest.
Clowery was the assistant principal of Wilson Elementary in Anderson Township until his arrest for inappropriately touching a girl's chest with his foot at a movie theater in 2006.
Clowery was given probation for that offense, however he had to go to jail after he refused to attend court-ordered sex offender courses.
During Thursday's sentencing, the grandmother of one younger victim said the incident has changed her granddaughter and made her scared of strangers. "I just feel that he should get some kind of punishment for what he has done. It wasn't just her, I was told it was multiple kids that had to face this and I can only imagine what their families have had to go through."
Clowery is now considered a level two sex offender. He must register with the court every 180 days for the next 25 years.
