CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A Hamilton County grand jury indicted a man on a child endangering charge after a four-year-old accidentally shot himself. The boy got ahold of a gun that allegedly belonged to Tyrekis Mitchem.

The toddler shot himself in the chest at an apartment on Burton Avenue on Dec. 28. Neighbors say the boy picked up the gun and pulled the trigger.

The boy was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. His mother says he has since improved.

Mitchem is held on $10,000. He's not allowed to have any contact with the boy and he's not allowed to have any weapons in his home.
