Shell station robbery suspect attempted to grab officer's weapon

GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Green Township Police caught up with two suspected convenience store robbers minutes after the crime.

Eighteen-year-old Anthony Tremble and 24-year-old Earl Bowens held up a Shell station on North Bend Road at 7:09 a.m. on July 16.

One of the men went inside, showed a gun and demanded money while the other man stayed in the car outside.

At 7:15 a.m., the officer responding to the robbery saw the car turn down Boomer Road and stopped it.

Police say while officers were processing Tremble, he was able to free his hand and tried to grab an officer's weapon.

He was given another charge of aggravated robbery.

Money and a semi-automatic handgun were found in the car. Police believe they may be connected to additional robberies.

Later in the afternoon, Bowens was charged with aggravated robbery for allegedly driving the getaway car after the robbery of the Big G Food Mark on Putz Place in Westwood.
