CINCINNATI (WKRC) - La Soupe is helping to ease the burden of Tri-State families affected by the government shutdown.
Owner Suzy Deyoung has been recognized both locally and nationally for her humanitarian efforts.
Starting Wednesday, she and her team of volunteers will serve thousands of free meals to those who've been affected by the shutdown.
On Jan. 23 and 24, federal workers and their families can dine in from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. or grab carryout from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Summit Restaurant on Cincinnati State's campus.
Fifteen hundred meals have been prepared for each day.
La Soupe also has a brick-and-mortar shop on Round Bottom Road in Anderson Township. There are plans to open another shop in Walnut Hills.
