Little girl battling DIPG passes away
ERLANGER, Ky. (WKRC) - After battling a form of brain cancer called DIPG, 6-year-old Brooklyn Smith of Erlanger passed away Thursday, April 27.
The Smiles for Brooklyn organization was formed to help raise money to find a cure for DIPG, the same type of cancer Lauren Hill and Kyler Bradley had. Brooklyn was diagnosed with the disease in January 2016.
Brooklyn was on an experimental treatment, which showed some progress. The treatment was a product of the research money raised by Lauren Hill.
The visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hebron Lutheran Church on Monday, May 1.
