Matthew 25 Ministries hosts annual 5K to help fight hunger
BLUE ASH, Ohio (WKRC) - About 1 in 5 children in Ohio lives in poverty.
For more than a decade, Matthew 25 Ministries has been helping get food in the hands of those who need it most. They hosted their annual Hunger 5K Run and Walk Saturday morning to help fight hunger this holiday season.
Matthew 25 Ministries says the 5K is a family-friendly way to help out communities throughout the Tri-State. But the proceeds from the 5K benefit not only the hungry in Cincinnati, but throughout the nation and world as well.
They also hosted a food drive for local shelters and pantries. If you'd like to donate but can't drop off food donations, you are able to make monetary donations here.
The organization says that since hosting the race, they've raised over 730,000 pounds of food for people in need.
