Truck overturns onto I-75, spilling liquid plastic onto highway
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ohio (WKRC) - All lanes on northbound I-75 at Ronald Reagan are open again after a semi overturned on the highway.
The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said the driver of the semi was changing from the left lane to the center lane when a Ford Mustange abruptly switched lanes from right to the center.
The semi driver then swerved back into the left lane to avoid hitting the Mustang, which caused the semi to tip onto its left side, hitting a guardrail and a bridge parapet. This ripped open the side of the truck, causing liquid plastic to spill out onto the interstate and onto a construction site on E. Galbraith Road below.
The liquid plastic is non-hazardous. Representatives from the Ohio EPA responded to the scene to supervise its cleanup.
No one was injured in the crash. Speed, alcohol and drugs are not factors in the crash.
