CINCINNATI (Cincinnati Business Courier) - Newport's New Riff Distilling is making a major investment into the public-facing portions of its facility.

New Riff on Wednesday announced plans for a $3 million renovation of its first-floor gift shop and third-floor event space, which will see the in-house tasting room and cocktail bar, the Aquifer, move from the first to the third floor.

The distillery had outgrown its small Aquifer space, Hannah Lowen, New Riff vice president of operations, said in a news release, and moving it to the third floor will create more room for patrons, as well as access to the rooftop patio. The renovation will include the creation of a new private room that can be reserved for gatherings.
