FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ind. (WKRC) - A FedEx driver surprised a young Indiana boy with a new basketball hoop.
Aubrey, who often delivers to the Wheeler home, noticed that Elijah Wheeler's basketball hoop was worn out, according to a Facebook post from Elijah's mother.
So she replaced it.
“Just wanted you and your son to have the best hoop that’ll grow with him and all his friends. It’s wonderful that you guys shoot hoops with him,” Aubrey wrote in a note. Aubrey had also left an instruction manual and a new ball.
Elijah's mother said she told her son where the new hoop came from and who Aubrey is. She said he started to cry. She said she was going to have her son write a thank you letter and give her a thank you card for her kindness.
"Instantly he was ready to play some basketball needless to say,” Elijah's mother Coledo Wheeler said. "There are very much still good people in the world.”
Aubrey even returned with some sandbags to weigh down the base of the hoop.
