COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) - Ohio's Department of Health reported 6,823 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday. That's more than 2,000 higher than the 21-day rolling average, which is also increasing.

Hospitalizations spiked with 457 admissions reported. That's more than 2.5 times the 21-day average. Twenty-eight people were admitted to the ICU. There are 3,147 COVID-19 patients currently in Ohio hospitals.

Indiana's Department of Health reported 2,952 new COVID-19 cases. Eighty-six deaths were reported including one in Fayette and one in Franklin counties.

Dearborn, Switzerland and Franklin counties are now at level 3 red.

There are 2,513 COVID-19 patients in Indiana hospitals. While case numbers have begun to decrease, hospitalizations continue to increase.

In Kentucky, there were 4,468 new COVID-19 cases and 30 new deaths. Hospitalizations also rose from Tuesday with 2,424 COVID-19 patients currently in Kentucky hospitals.
