BOND HILL, Ohio (WKRC) - One woman is dead and four other people sustained non-life threatening injuries in a crash in Bond Hill early Saturday morning, according to Cincinnati Police.
Police say that at around 2 a.m. on Saturday, crews responded to a crash in the 5200 block of Reading Road.
According to police, a 2020 Volkswagon Routan, operated by 29-year-old D'Angelo Plair, was traveling north on Reading Road when he rear-ended a 2002 Honda Accord, operated by 20-year-old Bryce Degaro. The crash caused Plair to lose control of his vehicle, veer to the right, and striking a tree off the road.
Plair and three of his passengers were transported to University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Those three passengers are identified as 24-year-old Jermane Sanders, 25-year-old Quenten Brogden, and 21-year-old Meeasia Kyles. A fifth passenger, 36-year-old Mary Ellen Harris, was transported to UC Medical Center with critical injuries and later died. Nobody in Plair's car was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Degaro was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.
Police say that excessive speed and impairment appear to be factors in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Cincinnati Police Department's Traffic Unit at 513-352-2514.
