BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) - The man suspected of raping a Miami University student 16 years ago has admitted to the crime.
Lloyd Ailes pleaded guilty to a total of six counts of rape, aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
Ailes raped the student off-campus in January 2006.
DNA testing did not lead to a suspect at the time. Since then, investigators have tracked down several suspects using websites that do DNA testing for families. In this case, it was Parabon. DNA evidence led to Ailes' father and then his mother which led to his match.
Ailes faces more than 60 years in prison and will have to register as a sex offender. Ailes will be sentenced on June 30.
