Pedestrian struck, killed on I-75 in Kenton County

Person was struck in the southbound lanes of I-75 near Kyles Lane (Randy Erwin, WKRC)

KENTON COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) - A pedestrian was struck and killed on I-71/75 in Kenton County Friday.

The man was involved in an initial crash with another vehicle at about 6:45 a.m. When the other driver took off, the man began walking and was then hit by a tractor trailer.

The tractor-trailer continued on. Sgt. Chris Habble said it's not clear if the semi driver knew he had struck someone. The pedestrian was then run over by a van and trapped underneath.

The accident completely shut down all southbound lanes for a time.

Police are still working to notify his family so they are not releasing his name.
