Plans to redevelop Covington IRS site move forward
COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) - Plans for a valuable piece of property near the riverfront are moving forward.
Covington city commissioners are expected to approve an agreement with an architectural firm to redevelop the 23-acre IRS site. The large processing center is slated to close in August 2019, cutting nearly 1,800 jobs and millions of tax dollars from Covington's budget.
The firm will come up with a new plan to use the site that will create tax revenue.
