Police: 2 arrested after abducting man in Sycamore Township
SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) - Two men have been arrested, accused of abducting another man from his apartment in Sycamore Township.
Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies were called to the 5700 block of Kugler Mill Road Friday afternoon after reports of an abduction.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said 24-year-old Bowen Zheng was taken by force from his apartment building's parking lot. Witnesses said two men took Zheng and his Ford Mustang. The sheriff's office said one of the men had knocked on Zheng's door and told him his car was parked illegally. When Zheng went out in the parking lot, the two men reportedly abducted him at gunpoint.
Family and friends told detectives they received demands for money or drugs from the abductors. Detectives were later able to track Zheng down to an apartment complex at the 3300 block of Wunder Avenue in Westwood around 11:30 Friday night.
Zheng was reportedly in his stolen car, duct-taped and with a hood over his head. He was not seriously injured.
Detectives arrested the driver and passenger in the stolen car: Nathaniel Potter, 26, and Roman Potter, 23. They were both charged with kidnapping, abduction, aggravated robbery and extortion.
Detectives said they believed Zheng was targeted and that it wasn't a random act of violence.
