Two detained in connection with Aurora double homicide

AURORA, Ind. (WKRC) - Two people were detained and are being questioned in connection with a double homicide in Aurora, according to Kentucky State Police.

The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office was called to 5033 Douglas Drive to check on the welfare of the people inside the home around 10 p.m. Friday night.

When deputies entered the home, they found a man and a woman dead. ISP ruled their deaths as homicides based on evidence they found.

Autopsies will be done on the victims Sunday. Their names will be released once their identities have been confirmed and family members have been notified.

Neighbors say a decorated Vietnam War veteran lives in the home, but it's not certain if they were one of the victims.

According to the KSP, they received a call from ISP to keep an eye out for a vehicle wanted in connection with the homicides. KSP troopers saw the the vehicle on KY-80 in Pulaski County and conducted a traffic stop where two people were detained.

ISP was contacted and U.S. marshals took custody of the two subjects.

ISP's Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says they will release more information Sunday.
