CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Police say scammers are targeting residents in two local counties.
Some scammers say they are calling from the "civil division" of the Kenton County Sheriff's Office.
Officials want to remind everyone they will not call you about unpaid fines, missed jury duty, or outstanding warrants.
And the Clerk of Courts in Hamilton County is warning about scammers calling people saying there is a warrant out of their arrest.
They demand and electronic payment to get the warrant lifted.
The scammers have spoofed the number of the clerks office so it looks like an official call, but it's not.
The Clerk's office will never request money over the phone.
