CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Days after a cyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle in College Hill, police appear to be no closer to finding the driver.

James Towns, 37, was riding his bike on West North Bend Road near Edwood Avenue around 1 a.m. Saturday.

The driver that hit him didn't stop, and Towns later died of his injuries at UC Medical Center.

"I kept knocking on his door, but I didn't get any answer," said Towns' friend and neighbor Steven Proctor, who went to check on him after hearing that a man on a bike had been hit.

"He was a good friend of mine," Proctor said. "I'm gonna miss him."

Proctor says Towns would ride his bike to and from work each day, but didn't know where he was headed when he was hit.

"He rides that bike everywhere, man. He would ride it all the time. Snow, rain, it didn't matter. He would ride that bike," said Proctor.

Police have no description of the vehicle that hit Towns.
