CINCINNATI (WKRC) - More than 150 Applebee's restaurants in 15 states were hit by a data breach in recent months, including 14 in the Tri-State.

The breach impacts 167 restaurants owned by RMH Franchises which includes 14 in Greater Cincinnati and northern Kentucky.

The company says malware was placed on certain cash registers to capture payment and credit card information.

The breach occurred between early December 2017 and early January 2018, the company said.

"Certain guests' names, credit or debit card numbers, expiration dates and card verification codes processed during limited time periods could have been affected," the company said in a statement.
