COLUMBUS, Ohio (WKRC) - A state lawmaker demands answers after a new study suggests a lot of Ohio colleges aren't enrolling many low-income students.

The study says seven Ohio colleges are well below average when it comes to enrolling students with Pell Grants. That's federal money given to students from families with a household income below about $60,000.

The nonprofit group Education Reform Now singles out seven schools for having less than 20 percent Pell-eligible students.

Miami University, Ohio State and the University of Dayton made the list.
