Suspected thief accused of hitting a movie theater employee with her car appears in court

Attorney told the court that the employee actually jumped on her car (WKRC)

BLUE ASH, Ohio (WKRC) - A Blue Ash woman accused of a theft at a movie theater and hitting an employee with her car appeared before a judge today. MacKenzie Robbins faces an aggravated robbery charge.

The 26-year-old was tearful as she walked into court on January 2.

A customer reported her purse stolen from the Envision Cinemas. Robbins then reportedly ran from the theater and got into her car. Employees chased after her and that's when she allegedly hit one of them. The employee was taken to the hospital but wasn't seriously hurt.

Robbins' attorney said the employee actually jumped on her car. "She indicates she did not purposely cause any harm to anybody, judge and she's very regretful of the event itself."

Her attorney said Robbins has a drug issue and recently relapsed.

A judge ordered her held on $150,000 bond.
